Carson, United States, October 13, 2026 /PressCable/ -- Holliday’s Helping Hands (HHH), a Los Angeles-based organization dedicated to helping homeless individuals rebuild their lives by providing safe and permanent housing, offering counseling, teaching essential life skills and delivering vocational training and job placement assistance, will celebrate the opening of Faith Haven, a new 23-bed residential care community in Torrance, with an open house on Wednesday, November 4. The facility represents an expansion of HHH’s mission to help vulnerable individuals achieve stability, self-sufficiency and lasting independence.

Located at 1637 and 1639 W. 228th Street, Faith Haven consists of two newly licensed Adult Residential Facilities serving individuals referred through the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health’s Enriched Residential Care-Plus program. The residences provide safe, supportive, home-like environments for individuals who require a higher level of care as they work toward recovery, stability and greater independence.

The two residences are designed to meet the distinct needs of different adult age groups. The six-bed home at 1637 W. 228th Street serves transitional-age youth ages 18 to 25, providing structured support during a critical period as young adults establish stability, develop life skills and prepare for greater independence. The adjoining 17-bed residence at 1639 W. 228th Street serves adults ages 18 to 59, offering individualized assistance and services tailored to each resident’s circumstances and goals.

Rather than creating an institutional atmosphere, Faith Haven emphasizes smaller, welcoming residential environments where individuals receive personalized attention while maintaining their dignity. Its approach incorporates housing, trauma-informed care, harm reduction and recovery-oriented principles.

Faith Haven is designed to offer more than a safe place to live. Residents will have access to individualized support and connections to programs and resources that promote personal development, life skills and greater self-sufficiency. Through HHH's broader network of services, including its Shine Ambassador Work Source (SAWS) program, participants can explore opportunities for vocational training, employment preparation and personal growth.

The November 4 open house will provide community leaders, agency representatives, service providers and invited guests an opportunity to tour both residences, meet HHH leadership and staff, learn about the ERC+ program and the organization's additional services, and recognize the community partners who helped make Faith Haven possible.

Admissions to Faith Haven are coordinated through the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health's referral process. The facilities are not walk-in shelters or general public housing. As licensed residential settings, both homes maintain safeguards to protect residents' privacy, dignity and confidentiality.

Founded in 2018, Holliday’s Helping Hands (HHH) is a Los Angeles-based organization transforming lives through compassion and opportunity. With over 200 staff, HHH provides interim housing and individualized roadmaps to independence. Through its SAWS program, HHH offers innovative training opportunities in food service, landscaping, screen printing and customer service. In 2024, HHH expanded its impact with the launch of the HHH School of Nursing, where clients can become Certified Nursing Assistants at no cost. Guided by the belief in giving a hand up, not a handout, HHH helps vulnerable populations rebuild with dignity, hope and purpose.
