WA Columbia River Salmon Fishing Trips With Professional Guides Announced

Oct 13, 2026

Reel Time Fishing (208-768-1050) is has announced guided salmon f trips for anglers visiting Oregon and Washington waterways this autumn.

Clarkston, United States, October 13, 2026 /PressCable/ -- Reel Time Fishing, based in Clarkston, WA, has announced guided Columbia River salmon fishing trips led by professional fishing experts, covering Chinook, coho, and sockeye on the Columbia and, when seasons allow, the Snake and Clearwater rivers. Trips are offered as full-day and half-day outings for small groups and larger parties.

The timing of the announcement coincides with an active fall season. Oregon and Washington managers plan recreational Columbia River salmon fisheries from August 1 through December 31, with a forecast of 636,500 adult fall Chinook and 358,700 adult coho, both below last year's returns of 685,512 and 471,411, according to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Retention seasons vary by river section, and this year's rules add mark-selective Chinook retention in part of the Buoy 10 fishery and limited retention of unmarked coho in some areas. These regulations can also change in season, which is why Reel Time Fishing's guides are versed in local regulations as well as current techniques and gear. The team's knowledge is particularly useful for visitors as the rules often differ from one stretch of river to the next.

The company says it fishes two runs per annum. Spring Chinook average 12 to 15 pounds, and Reel Time Fishing targets them on the Columbia near Portland, at Drano Lake and John Day Dam, and on the Snake and Clearwater rivers. Fall Chinook, which average about 20 pounds and are known as upriver brights, are the focus around Astoria, Buoy 10, and the Hanford Reach, with boats also venturing to the upper Columbia near Wells Dam, the mid-Columbia near the Deschutes River mouth, and the Snake River, when seasons permit.

Trips run at least eight hours for a full day or about four hours for a half day. The legal maximum is six anglers per boat, and with six full-time guides, the company can accommodate larger groups with advanced booking. Guides also supply rods, reels, and bait, as well as cleaning and filleting each catch at anglers' request.
