A 1998 graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio, Dr. Anguiano earned her medical degree and completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
Before joining Mind Works, she practiced for several years at Methodist Children's Hospital in San Antonio. From 2012 to 2019, she worked at Through the Years Pediatrics as a general pediatrician.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), Dr. Anguiano is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.
Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends people be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. They are trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all their developmental stages, as they grow and mature.
Having felt the calling to do more for children, Dr. Anguiano is the Founder of PLAY Awareness, Physical Literacy And Youth Awareness, which is an organization with the goal of promoting physical literacy, mindfulness, and social-emotional learning. She is also a certified Youth Physical Literacy Specialist, as well as a Yoga Calm Youth Instructor.
Happily married with two young children, she enjoys spending time with them, creating memories while they are rapidly growing. On the weekends, they relish movie nights and popcorn while huddling on the couch.
