Junk King San Francisco Adds Dogpatch to Residential Junk Removal Service Area

Sep 29, 2026

Dogpatch joins nearby Potrero Hill, Bayview, and South of Market in Junk King San Francisco's coverage for residential junk removal, with collected items sorted locally for donation, reuse, and recycling. The company provides same-day and next-day junk removal appointments including weekends.

San Francisco, United States, September 29, 2026 /NewsNetwork/ -- Junk King San Francisco, a locally owned and operated franchise of the national Junk King brand, has added the Dogpatch neighborhood to its residential service area in San Francisco. Dogpatch households can now schedule full-service junk removal of non-hazardous items, from a single appliance to a full home cleanout, including same-day and weekend appointments when crew availability allows.

The addition extends the company's coverage along San Francisco's eastern side. Dogpatch borders Potrero Hill and sits near Bayview, South of Market, and the Mission, all of which Junk King San Francisco already serves, providing full-service junk removal as well as self-service dumpster rentals. A full list of neighborhoods is available on the company's page.

Junk King San Francisco's full-service junk removal means their crews handle the lifting, loading, and cleanup, so residents don't need to carry bulky furniture or heavy appliances out of homes or multi-unit buildings themselves. Pricing is based on the volume items occupy in the truck, and crews provide a free estimate on site before any work begins. Each truck holds up to 18 cubic yards, roughly the volume of 12 standard refrigerators, according to Junk King San Francisco.

The expansion comes as household furniture remains one of the harder categories of waste to keep out of landfills. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, furniture and furnishings in municipal solid waste reached 12.1 million tons in 2018, the most recent year measured, up from 2.2 million tons in 1960. Roughly 80 percent of that material was landfilled.

San Francisco has set its own targets for reducing that kind of disposal. Under a pledge adopted in 2018, the city aims to reduce municipal solid waste generation by 15 percent and cut disposal to landfill and incineration by 50 percent by 2030, according to SF Environment.

Rather than going directly to disposal, loads collected in Dogpatch are taken to a local Junk King warehouse for sorting. Usable items are donated or reused where possible, and materials such as metal and electronics are recycled, with an emphasis on sustainability and eco-friendly disposal practices.

"Much of what people want gone from their homes still has value, whether it's a dresser another family can use or metal that can be recycled," said Michelle Chin, owner of Junk King San Francisco. "Our San Francisco team knows Dogpatch has a lot of residents in newer multi-unit buildings, where getting a couch or a refrigerator down to the street is a real challenge. Adding the neighborhood means those households can clear out large, bulky items and know where they're headed."
