KONKA Ranks Top in the Industry for Its Strategic Upgradation

Sep 6, 2019

KONKA steadfastly transforms and upgrades to a “platform-based” company, bringing itself remarkable achievements and shoring up the domestic home appliance companies and even the domestic manufacturing industry in China.

Shenzhen - September 5, 2019 /MarketersMedia/ —

During the last decade, some of the Chinese home appliance companies have been caught in a fix of overcapacity. Meanwhile, the dominance of foreign brands in the high-end market and shattering of the market due to excessively low price of new Internet brands have posed new problems for the once-thriving enterprises. Therefore, many Chinese companies are looking to find a solution to come out of this situation.

KONKA, the Chinese home appliance brand with a history of around 40 years, has been attempting to change its development strategies in recent years. It was founded in Shenzhen, Guangdong in 1980 and is engaged in the manufacturing and sales of television sets. In 1998, market share of KONKA's color TV sets ranked first in China and in 1999, KONKA Group developed to be an enterprise in Shenzhen with local output of more than CNY 10 billion.

The shift of KONKA's strategy was defined last year and the key objective was to transform KONKA to a platform-based company driven by technology and innovation. As a matter of fact, any product has to face the bottleneck of “life cycle”, which is also true with the attitude of Chinese people towards home appliances. Theoretically, the life cycle of enterprise is to vanish along with the termination of that of the product. Shifting from selling products to building platforms, KONKA’s strategy has shown the company’s foresight and stands out among others of similar companies.

KONKA sets global layout as its another strategy. After joining the global entrepreneurial incubator platform “Pitch@Palace” and serving as its new governing unit in China, KONKA has accelerated its global expansion. Till date, KKSTAR has established a total of 15 innovation bases in seven cities within China and 5 foreign countries. It plans to establish an overseas innovation center in London by this year. In the future, KONKA's incubator projects in seven metropolises will be in full preparation. Meanwhile, KONKA recently established a new joint venture in Egypt, which is considered as the further deepening of its global strategic layout.

KONKA's steadfast transformation to a “platform-based” company has brought itself remarkable achievements, shoring up the domestic home appliance companies and even the domestic manufacturing industry in China.
