New York City, New York Mar 14, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - A highly trained family physician, Dr. Hon sees patients at Austin Regional Clinic Wilson Parke in Austin, Texas. She specializes in preventive care for all ages but has a special interest in women's health.

"Understanding our patients' lives and backgrounds is the best way to provide effective, full-spectrum care. Any less would not be doing my patients justice. From babies to the elderly and everyone in between, I love taking care of patients throughout their phases of life," expressed the doctor.

Back in the early days of her academic career, Dr. Hon earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Brown University in 2006 and graduated with her medical degree with distinction in community service from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2011. She completed her internship and residency in family medicine at the University of Massachusetts in 2014 where she pursued focused training in women's health/family planning and global health.

With an unwavering commitment to her specialty, the doctor is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice family medicine and its sub-specialties.  Remaining up to date in her field, she is an active member of the American Academy of Family Medicine and the Travis County Medical Society.

Continuously dedicated to community service, she has volunteered with the Volunteer Healthcare Clinic, the oldest continuously operating free clinic in Austin; and GirlStart, an Austin-based nonprofit organization dedicated to designing and implementing innovative STEM education programs for girls in grades K-12.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.

Among her most notable achievements, Dr. Hon has been the recipient of the Rising Stars Award by Texas Monthly Super Doctors (2017, 2018, 2019), and Austin's Top Doctors Award by Austin Monthly (2021, 2022).
